I do need this kind of game when I need to test my eye sharpness or test my reflexes in a more relaxing way. I dont know, maybe that's from my point of view. So far, I really love this!. While this game is great, it constantly crashes on my computer and the performance is REALLY bad. I get kicked out of the game, my screen gets squashed, it's pretty bad. I can't even play and have to close it and reopen to play. It's clearly not made for HD screens.. Cute frog. Nice artwork and plays VERY smoothly. Definiately not "code bloat." :-)HOWEVER, the "Match 3" tags is misleading because as the others tagsaccurately show, this is an "action" game, not a "startegy" game."Match 3" ussually implies strategy, but in practice, once I hitlevels hard enough to fail at, the only thing that really seemed tomatter is being able to make at least semi-reasonable shots as quickly as possible.. Zuma's Revenge is a match 3 puzzle game, where the objective of the game is to clear the marbles without them getting eaten by the skull thing (whatever it is). There are 60 levels in the basic story mode, then if you want you can go through the same levels again at a higher difficulty level - this is called Heroic Mode. Then there are challenges that you can try to get a certain amount of points before the time runs out, and then there is the mode that I literally finished right before I started writing this review - Iron Frog (ten levels of twisty madness with only one life). Just a note for those reading this - I didn't play the prequel of this game, and as far as I could tell I wasn't missing too much and I understood and enjoyed the story that was told with the sequal. I finished this game with all of the achievements in about 86 hours.I really enjoyed the story mode - I got though most of it without much difficulty until about world four or five. Overall I loved the story mode; after finishing it, I did heroic mode. This was significantly more difficult, where I started to get stuck as early as half way through world two. With some breaks where I switched to the challenge levels instead, I was able to push through the rest of Heroic Mode. With both of these, I had gotten frustrated at times, but in the end the satisfaction of completing an area and thinking "I never have to go back to that area again because I finally got a frickin' checkpoint," was far more rewarding than the frusteration I felt. Now, Iron Frog. The reason my playtime is as long as it is. This took me a looott of time, a lot more than you think ten levels would take to finish. No, oh no, don't be fooled. It isn't called Iron Frog (after the Iron Man Triathlon of swimming, cycling, and running) for nothing. You get one life, and each level has it's own little gimmick that you have to figure out in order to clear it an a fast enough time to get the "Iron Will" achievement. I couldn't tell you how many times I had to play the first six levels alone. You have to play that mode over and over again to the point that you can tell when level one isn't going to give you the marble combinations you need to get a good time. In order to save myself from the pain, I would start over to give myself the longest time cushion that I could. I set up my own timer on my other monitor to constantly check my progress. At times, it actually caused me grief when I failed at a level, because I just couldn't stand the idea of doing it again, but after a break and coming back to it the next day I would have restored determination to get it done. After dozens upon dozens of attempts (and the third time I had the priveladge to see level ten with my own eyes), I completed it! My heart was pounding, hands sweaty, and I was shaking like jello. I looked over at my timer on my other monitor to see exactly 25 minutes (it has to be under that to get the achievement), but I believed my own timer would be a little bit off because it had been counting transitions between levels, which I figured the game itself wouldn't do. I looked back, and there I saw the little pop up for the achivement. AFdsfkhdsiondjksgfl, I'm still so excited about it because it's so fresh in my memory, so I wanted to write the review as soon as I could. The next screen showed my time. TWENTY FOUR MINUTES AND TWENTY FOUR SECONDS! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! My first time completing the mode and I had the achievement - barely, but I had done it!Overall, I think this game is definitely worth your time if you like match 3 games, or if you enjoy challenging puzzle games. In summary, cute Story Mode, challenging Heroic Mode, and a brutal but ultimately satisfying Iron Frog mode. Plenty of gamplay for the price. Nice sound effects and music (which can be adjusted on sliders), and one fierce froggy friend. Yep yep yep, ZUMA!. The balls roll around and you shoot new balls into the correct place to match colors. It's fun.. Only buy if you really, really want more Zuma. The description that sticks with me every time I try to play this is "it's Zuma, but it came back wrong".And this is coming from the guy who will play every Luxor game ever without complaint. No damn idea why this one sets me off.. Fun classic arcade game. However it is really hard. You need to think fast and ahead, if you want, to beat anything above medium level.8/10.. All I can say is this game will♥♥♥♥♥♥you off and I wish I hadn't wasted so much time on it. If you're a masochist or you just enjoy tedious games, have fun with this one... 3/10. In grand Popcap tradition, Zuma's Revenge is a simple game to learn, but exciting and satisfying to play and play and play. The premise has a line of multi-colored marbles inching their way along a pre-defined path towards an ultimate drop-dead point and you have to shoot similar colored marbles at the line in order to create matches of at least three marbles. Different bonuses will allow greater control over the advancing line, but the real progress comes from simply being dextrous enough to notice the matches and quickly fire accurately. The game is relatively stress free until the final levels when the game starts throwing interlocking looped paths which block your ability to manipulate the entire line and forcing you to act quick and precise to keep things managable. At certain points the game changes and you face off against different "boss" characters which employ subtle variations to the game techniques. The experience prooves to be very satisfying and quite rewarding.. Great non thinker game when you need to shut out all the voices out of your head.
